Bongaigaon: In a unique initiative by Chirang Police to show love to animals, Chirang Police in Sidli PS are now regularly feeding the street dogs of the area while performing their duty.

Jyoti Nath, OC of Sidli PS, said that most of the street dogs were dependent on hotels and shopkeepers for food. “But due to the lockdown, the entire area is closed and hence street dogs are not getting sufficient food. So we decided to feed them. We collect excess food from our colleagues and also cook some food for the dogs. We carry the food during our duty and feed the street dogs wherever we see them. We will continue doing this till the lockdown is over,” he said. He also appealed to people to feed street dogs near their houses during the lockdown.
