Chutia Students’ Union burns PM’s effigy

Golaghat, May 17: The Golaghat subdivisional Chutia Students’ Union burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday at Bezbaruah point of Golaghat town. The activists shouted various slogans against the Narendra Modi-led BJP government as well as the Sarbananda Sonowal government. They slammed Modi saying that before coming to power in Assam, Narendra Modi assured the people of Assam that illegal Bangladeshis would soon have to leave Assam. But after forming the government in Assam, Modi forgot his assurances. They also slammed the Modi government for taking the decision to settle Hindu migrants in Assam by amending the citizenship bill, 2016.
