Citizens’ meet focuses on developing North Lakhimpur Boys HS School

LAKHIMPUR: The North Lakhimpur regional unit of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) organized a citizens’ meet at North Lakhimpur Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School in order to discuss the past glory, present status, and future of the school.

The meet commenced with North Lakhimpur regional AASU president Pranjit Gogoi in the chair in the presence of AASU central committee finance secretary Krishna Das, Lakhimpur unit president Pulok Jyoti Borah and a host of prominent citizens of North Lakhimpur.

Academicians like Dr. Puspanath Borah, Dr. Nripen Phukan, Biren Sarmah, Prafulla sarmah, Chandra Borah, Jivan Chandra Dutta, social activists Uday Sankar Hazarika, Achinta Hazarika, Mamaoni Saikia, Principal of the school, Deepali Hazarika and many other citizens delivered a speech on the stipulated topics of the meet. On the basis of the suggestions of the speakers, several crucial resolutions were taken in order to develop the academic environment of the school. As per the resolutions, the School Management and Development Committee will be constituted in a public meeting in order to maintain the past glory of the school.

Moreover, decisions were taken to initiate adequate steps to enhance the academic environment by organizing a common meeting with guardians, alumni, school authority and students. In this regard, a separate meeting with the guardians, students, alumni, and citizens will also be held. Taking another resolution, the meeting suggested the school authority to organize seminars and other allied academic events to motivate the students with regard to upgrading the academic environment of the school. In the same event, a convener committee for chalking out plans and programmes for the betterment of the school was constituted comprising a galaxy of eminent citizens of North Lakhimpur.
