JORHAT: Along with the rest of the State, in Jorhat too there were protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and college students boycotted classes and staged an indefinite protest in the middle of the road. They even blocked the KK Barooah Road that connects the AT Road via KK Barooah Road to Borpatra Ali.

Students of Jorhat College and CKB College sat for indefinite protest in front of their college shouting slogans against the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, BJP and RSS for misleading and cheating the indigenous Assamese people. Later, the Jorhat district units of AASU, AJYCP, KMSS and Bar Association convened a closed-door meeting at an undisclosed location and took up a resolution to organize various agitation programmes to pressurize the government to stop implementation of the controversial bill, said Ritul Pathak, president of Jorhat district AJYCP unit, on Wednesday.
