Kokrajhar: Dharitree, an integrated land records management system for computerization of land records, was ceremonially launched in Chirang district on Monday. It was ceremonially launched in its all three circle offices like Sidli, Bengtal and Bijni by Kampa Borgayari, deputy chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), in a public meeting held at the premises of Sidli Revenue Circle, Sidli.

Launching the project as chief guest, Kampa Borgayari expressed his utmost pleasure at the introduction of computerized process of generation and maintenance of land records at the Circle Office level. He apprised that all these three Circle Offices of the district were now fully equipped with the infrastructure, technical support and expertise which were the essential pre-requisite for the introduction of Dharitree or the computerization of land records project.

In his inaugural speech, Arun Kr. Brahma, Circle Officer, Sidli threw light on the advantages and future prospects of the Dharitree Project. He informed that the project was named after the Dharitree Software which was installed for the purpose of maintaining and generating computerized land records. He further added that there would be a gradual replacement of manual records by computerized ones and besides this, almost all the activities of the Circle Offices would be automated in time and would be linked up in real time with the district and State headquarters.

Subhalaxmi Deka, Secretary, Land and Revenue, BTC, also expressed hope that the implementation of the Dharitree or the Computerization of Land Records Project in the Circle Offices was sure to bring a sea change in the land records management system. She added that it would definitely improve the quality of services to the citizens by facilitating easy access to self-land records, information, reducing procedural delays and enabling faster delivery of services. The programme was attended, among others, by BTC Principal Secretary Rabinson Muchahary, Ajit Kr. Brahma, OSD, DHARITREE project and other dignitaries.
