Corruption in Chhaygaon Aadhaar card centres

PALASBARI: At a time when the Central government has identified Aadhaar as the only important document for the benefit of various government offices and almost all welfare schemes of the government, the general public has fallen victim to the corruption of some data operators in various government Aadhaar centres.

It is to be noted that at different times, the general public has to come to the government Aadhaar centres for Aadhaar card creation and Aadhaar card attachment for various government functions due to 'Aadhaar Update'. At the same time, some Aadhaar centres operators of the State are demanding Rs 200 to Rs 300 from the public. It may be mentioned here that the official cost of creating a new Aadhaar card and updating it is negligible. There is a significant base update of Rs. 50 (Rs. 42.37 as original and Rs. 50 including GST). Although some operators of the centres at Chhaygaon are demanding Rs 150 to Rs 200.

Some of the people have raised awareness about the issue of Aadhaar corruption and requested the Chhaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed and administration to take strong actions against the culprits.
