LAKHIMPUR: The alarming spike of COVID-19 patients continues in Lakhimpur district. A total of 264 new patients were detected in the district on Saturday and Sunday. Out of them, 141 parents were found positive on Saturday while 123 patients were detected on Sunday. Of them, 154 patients were found positive for coronavirus infection through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while remaining 110 patients were detected as per real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test result. With these newly detected patients, the number of total COVID-19 cases spiked to 4298 on the day. Out of them, 2745 patients have been discharged while 1553 are active cases.
