COVID-19 positive cases rise in Sivasagar schools

SIVASAGAR: Several schools in the Sivasagar district have reported COVID-19 positive cases in the past couple of days.

Just a couple of days after teachers and students of Dikshu High School of Namti and Namti Chariali High School at Amguri in Sivasagar district tested positive for COVID-19, another school in the district has also reportedly recorded COVID-19 positive cases. Barpatradal High School has registered COVID-19 positive cases on Monday. After the detection of COVID-19 virus, the school was closed down and the ongoing half-yearly examinations were called off. 15 students including the headmaster and his wife tested COVID-19 positive. Another teacher of the school was also tested positive for the virus. Amid surge in COVID-19 cases, parents have expressed apprehensions over conduct of the examinations.
