COVID-19 Test: 12 Persons discharged from Lakhimpur quarantine facility

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur District Health Department on Sunday sent swab samples of 8 persons to Regional Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, ICMR, RMRC of Dibrugarh district for COVID-19 test. Out of them, swab samples of six persons were sent for the second test while the rest two are of two health officials who have been extending their services to fight against the pandemic in the district.

On the other hand, the results of six swab samples sent on Saturday for COVID-19 second test were reported to the District Health Department on Sunday and all those samples tested negative for coronavirus.

The District Health Department has discharged all the persons kept in the mass quarantine facility of Punjab Hotel. Out of the six persons in that establishment, four were released on Saturday while two were released on Sunday. Similarly, the 10 people kept in the mass quarantine facility at Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya campus were also released on the same day. Out of 15 kept in that institution, three persons were released on Friday while rest two were released on Saturday.

At present, two persons of the district, including the COVID-19 patient, are under observation in the isolation wards of the COVID-19 hospital of the district at Telahi Model Hospital while a total of 13 people are in the mass quarantine facility of the same hospital. In addition to it, 11 persons have been kept in the mass quarantine facility located at OPD College.

The number of people stamped for home quarantine in the district increased up to 4,544 on Sunday. On the other hand, 253 persons of the district, with a cumulative total of 1994, completed their 28-day long period of home quarantine on the day. Notably, a total of 1,741 people of the district completed their home quarantine till Saturday.
