COVID cases increase to 364 in Barpeta

BARPETA: The number of COVID positive cases increased up to 364 in Barpeta district. On Friday, 68 new COVID cases were detected in Barpeta district. One COVID patient named Jatin Kakati (56) of Bhoukamari village in Barpeta district died in Guwahati on Friday. Again a person from Barpeta district who had gone to Majuli tested positive. Now the number of COVID patients in Nityananda BPHC is 15, in Bhabanipur BPHC four, in Barpeta Road BPHC nine, Mandia BPHC eight, Nagaon BPHC three, Kalgachiya BPHC one, Chenga BPHC seven, FAAMCH, Barpeta 12 while few are admitted in private nursing homes. Vaccination is also going on in the health centres simultaneously.

Till now all total 3,274 people have been tested in the entire district. Among the, 296 were found positive. Total 15 were discharged on Friday. Till date all total 38 COVID positive patients have been discharged and 3 have been sent to Guwahati for better treatment. At present there are 255 active cases in Barpeta district.

On Friday, a COVID patient named Kancharan Bramha (62) of Gosaigaon in Kokrajhar district died at FAAMCH (Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital).
