CRPF Jawan allegedly abuses Nagaon Deputy Commissioner under influence of Alcohol

Nagaon: One CRPF jawan under the influence of alcohol allegedly dishonoured the Congress Zila Parishad members and abused the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon on Thursday.

As per reports, the jawan physical assaulted several Zila Congress members/agents outside the EVM strongroom at Nagaon Government Boys High Secondary School.

The incident had led to a tensed situation in the region.

Following the incident, Nagaon Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ripul Das and Assistant Deputy Commissioner reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

On the other hand, Assistant Deputy Commissioner assured for strict action against the CRPF jawan.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police of Nagaon District, Sankarbrata Rai Medhi informed The Sentinel Digital that the CRPF jawan was immediately replaced from the EVM strongroom after the incident.

Speaking to the media, Congress members questioned about the security concerns in the region under the BJP-led Government.

They further demanded that the counting of the vote should be done under the supervision of Gauhati High Court, as they claimed that the present Government might try to indulge to create a chaotic situation during the counting of votes.
