LAKHIMPUR: Robison Deka, a retired employee of the Directorate of Information and Public Relation, breathed his last on Friday night following a brief illness. He was the resident of Chamuagaon near North Lakhimpur town. He sincerely served as operator at the Lakhimpur District Information and Public Relation office and retired on December 31 in 2012.

On Friday, Robison Deka suddenly suffered from health problem and then he was admitted in North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Dibrugarh for advanced treatment and he passed away in a private nursing home there. He served as the president of the library management committee of the village and the executive body president of the Chetana Sangha of the area. In addition to them, he was involved in various institutions along with developmental activities in the area. He is survived by his wife, two sons along with a host of relatives.

His demise was deeply condoled by the employees of Lakhimpur District Information and Public Relation office and the other institutions on Saturday. The employees of the office concerned held a condolence meeting in this regard in the presence of DIPRO Mandira Chayengiya and observed one-minute silence to pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
