Dhiraj Narayan Nath of Sipajhar passes away in Darrang district

MANGALDAI: Dhiraj Narayan Nath, former general secretary of B Borooah College Students' Union, former vice president of Post Graduate Students' Union of Guwahati University, youth activist and a businessman of Sipajhar area in Darrang district is no more. He breathed his last at his Guwahati residence in the early hours of Sunday. He was 45 and was suffering from severe liver ailment since last couple of months. Born to the family of former Principal of Sipajhar College and noted litterateur Dr. Reban Chandra Nath and Bokuli Devi as the only son, Dhiraj Narayan Nath after completion of his Post Graduation in Education from Gauhati University started his career as a businessman in Guwahati. In the annual session of Assam XahityaXabha organized in Sipajhar in 2005, he proved his organizational ability as an active member of the organizing committee to make the session a successful one.

In presence of a number of admirers, relatives and well-wishers his mortal body was consigned into flames as per traditional vedic rituals at his ancestral village at Solpam near Sipajhar at 2 pm. He is survived by his mother, wife and only son. Legislator of SipajharBinanda Kumar Saikia, former President of Assam Xahitya Xabha Dr. ParamanandaRajbongshi, members of Sipajhar Press Guild, Darrangi Kala Kristi UnnayanSangha have expressed their deep shock and pain over the untimely demise of Dhiraj Narayan Nath and termed it as a great loss to society. They also shared the pain and sufferings with the grief-stricken family members.
