Dhubri District Administration all Set to Launch Mission Prayas 0.2

DHUBRI: After the encouraging result of first phase of Mission Prayas (tryst), Dhubri district administration is all set to launch Mission Prayas 0.2, focusing to achieve 100 per cent student learning outcome in the 150 demonstration schools in Dhubri district soon.

Prior to that, Dhubri district administration, in collaboration with the education department and Piramal Foundation, already introduced a survey mechanism to identify gaps in reading and mathematics skill as well as to ensure to bring 70 per cent increase within two months.

A source in Piramal Foundation informed that to know the present status of improvement, a baseline assessment was going on in 150 demonstration schools of the district with the support of 155 Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCC), Prayas volunteers and team of Piramal Foundation.

Talking to The Sentinel, Programme Leader of Piramal Foundation, Tanima Narayan informed that in the meantime, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani conducted a meeting in the presence of Inspector of Schools, District Elementary Education Officer, District Programme Officer, Block Programme Officer and Block Elementary Education Officer of six educational blocks of the district and shared the report by Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) and IDinsight (a third party data analytics research organization) on education.

“In the meeting, all the indicators of improvement were thoroughly analysed and discussed to understand the learning levels of the student from Class III to Class V as well as baseline assessment result conducted through ASER tools on primary language and mathematics,” Tanima further informed.

She also said that a day-long workshop was also conducted in five educational blocks of Dhubri district where the CRCCs were oriented with the tools.

Prayas was the brainchild of Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani. It was launched by him in the district to upgrade and provide quality education and it concluded on June 28 this year.

A source in the elementary department informed that more than 2,000 volunteers had strived for providing quality education in the schools all across the six educational blocks of the district. Attendance of the students increased drastically while learning level of students was assessed as positive and encouraging, the source added.
