Dibrugarh DC Pallav Gopal Jha launches 'Swagatam' application

DIBRUGARH: 'Swagatam –gateway to visit Government' an application software was launched here by Deputy Commissioner, Pallav Gopal Jha in a meeting held at the DC's conference hall on Friday in the presence of District Informatics Officer, National Informatics Center (NIC) Promod Nath and his team along with District Development Commissioner, Sanjay Dutta and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajiv Thapa.

Swagatam , a cloud based application software, first of its kind in the State was developed by NIC, Government of India and specially designed by NIC team Dibrugarh as per the need of the district to facilitate the hassle free process of taking an appointment to meet the DC for common man of the district. The new application will go a long way in eliminating the erstwhile awkward and tedious procedure of making a request for an appointment and then waiting for hours.

DC Jha while launching the application, in his address said, "The new application would bring district administration a step closer to the common people and allow the people to easily take an appointment of DC. Emphasizing on creating wide range of awareness among rural people, the main target of the application to cover, Jha dwelt at length about the facility through Common Service Centers (CSCs), located all across the district, which can be availed through these CSCs by persons who do not have a smartphone.
