District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee Meeting Reviewed Central Schemes Implementation in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) or DISHA of Kokrajhar district was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Pramila Rani Brahma, State Social Welfare and Soil Conservation Minister, in absence of its designated chairperson and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, in the conference hall of the BTC Secretariat at Bodofa Nwgwr. The meeting was attended by MLA Majendra Narzary, BTC Executive Members Doneswar Goyary and Rajib Kr. Brahma, BTC Principal Secretary and Member Secretary, DISHA, Biren Chandra Phukan.

During the meeting, Brahma inquired in details about the implementation and outcome of as many as 35 flagship programmes out of 41 like PMGSY, PMAY, PMUY and PMKVY. In her speech, the minister said that this meeting was a platform to share the progress, challenges and mostly the outcome of the Central Government schemes through various implementing departments. She also informed that the Government of India had entrusted them with the responsibility to supervise and monitor how the flagship programmes were implemented in their respective districts. The implementing departments, therefore, have to take into consideration the views of public representatives and other stakeholders during the implementation of any government scheme, she added.

She further stressed timely and effective implementation of every scheme for the benefit of the people. She also emphasized completion of all pending works of NH-31 from Kachugaon to Srirampur. She asked the officials of the Highway Authority to complete the work before 2019. The meeting also reviewed the flow of funds, including the funds allocated and funds released against each scheme by the government.
