Tezpur: The double lane work of BCT road in under progress by the Border Roads Organization. The Chief Engineer of Project Vartak said that the progress at certain places had been affected as land acquisition proceedings had not been finalized, especially in the location between Elephant and Sessa villages between KM 51 to 53 and KM 65 to 66 on BCT Road.

Though compensation estimate was earlier given by the State administration and BRO was ready to make payment, due to certain complaints received on the compensation estimate, revised estimate was asked from the Bomdila DC in July, 2018, which has not yet been finalized.

Meanwhile, villagers have stopped the construction activities in this stretch of road which is affecting the progress of widening of the road. The Chief Engineer said that the matter was discussed at the higher level of the State administration to resolve the issue.

However, the revised estimate could not be finalized as yet. BRO is ready to make the payment immediately on receipt of estimate from the Bomdila DC. BRO has appealed to villagers to allow the construction activities in this stretch of road to avoid delay in completion of the project.
