Dr Khagen Chandra Phukan memorial prize money quiz competition organized in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: In fond memory of renowned educationist and scholar Dr Khagen Chandra Phukan, a prize money quiz competition was organized on Saturday at Biseshwar Phukan Junior College in Golaghat.

The competition was inaugurated by veteran journalist Dwipen Dutta. In the inaugural programme, Rector of Biseshwar Phukan Junior College, Dr Bonti Rani Gogoi, Principal Mridul Bora, Principal of Kamargaon College, Dr Bijulee Borchetia, educationists SN Rajkumar and Monimala Gogoi along with several other distinguished guests were present. The quiz competition was organized for class IX and Class X students and students who are going to appear in the upcoming HSLC exam. More than 20 teams from different government and private schools of Golaghat participated in this quiz competition.

Well-known quiz master and Assistant Professor at Hemo Prova Borborah Girls' College Golaghat, Dr Polash Handique conducted the competition. First a preliminary round was held taking all the participants. The team of Harishjyoti Bora, Ankurima Dutta and Koustavmoni Hazarika from Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya bagged the first position . They were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and certificate. The team of Aarohan Bhuyan, Kristi Kanya Dutta and Prachurjya Madhur Saikia from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Golaghat secured second position and won a cash prize of Rs 3,000 along with certificate. The third position was bagged by the team from Athgaon Chari Ali Jatiya Vidyalaya. This team had members Nayanjyoti Hazarika, Hemanta Bora and Arif Ahmed. They got Rs 2,000 and certificate.

Quiz master Dr Polash Handique had introduced an award for best audience and that award was bagged by Assistant Teacher from Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya and journalist Siddhartha Handique.
