Drug peddler arrested by Sarupathar police with five small bottles of brown sugar

SARUPATHAR: Based on tip-off report, officer-in-charge Achuyut Dutta and his team of Sarupathar police station in Dhansiri subdivision on Sunday night arrested a drug peddler and recovered five small bottles of brown sugar worth Rs 10,000 from his possession.

While speaking to the media, the drug peddler said he used to bring cocaine from an unidentified person in Dimapur in Nagaland some students of Sarupathar were also involved in this.

Meanwhile, the arrested person was identified as Pranab Barail, resident of Sarupathar in Golaghat district. A case has been registered at Sarupathar police station in Dhansiri subdivision case no. 72/19 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
