Educational institutions to be closed across Assam due to increase in COVID cases

Due to increase in COVID cases in Barpeta district, the Deputy Commissioner has declared that all the educational institutions (government and non-government) from pre-primary to university level, along with hostels and coaching institutions, will remain closed for a period of 15 days

BARPETA: Due to increase in COVID cases in Barpeta district, the Deputy Commissioner has declared that all the educational institutions (government and non-government) from pre-primary to university level, along with hostels and coaching institutions, will remain closed for a period of 15 days as the cumulative total number of COVID positive cases has crossed above 300 during the last 10 days. But the online mode of education should be made available for the students.

Tezpur: In view of the rising COVID cases in Sonitpur district and the cumulative total number of positive COVID cases during the last 10 days exceeding the 300 mark in the district, Deputy Commissioner-cum-chairman, DDMA Sonitpur, Manvendra Pratap Singh, in exercise of powers conferred under section 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005, has declared that all educational institutions from pre primary section to university level (both government and non-government) and the hostels and coaching institutions of Sonitpur district will remain closed till May 12. However, online classes have to be made available for the students. This order will come into force with immediate effect.

TINSUKIA: As the cumulative total number of positive COVID cases during the last 10 days exceeded the 300 mark in Tinsukia district, the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, by an order vide No TPL.22/Edn/2021 of 27.4.2021, declared closure of all educational institutions (government and non-government) from pre-primary section to University level along with hostels and coaching institutions under Tinsukia district for a period of 15 days with immediate effect. However, online mode of education should be made available for the students. This order was promulgated in pursuance of government notification No ASE.01/2020/Pt-V/4 of April 27 issued by Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam Elementary/Secondary and Higher Education Department.
