Excise department of the Gossaigaon sub-divisional office steps up drive against illegal liquor

Gossaigaon: The excise branch under the office of the Gossaigaon sub-divisional office, has stepped up against illicit liquor in various villages under the Gossaigaon sub-division of Kokrajhar district. Last few days,the regular joint operation had been carried out at Kachugaon, Sapkata, Hudumkhata, Joymaguri, Gurufella, Dingdinga, Srirampur, Gossaigaon town etc. where the excise department siezed and destroyed 1000 litres of fermented wash and illicit liquor. On the other hand, the department have also intensified the operation against the illegal liquor, illegal sale of IMFL and other narcotic substances and drugs in the sub division. Gossaigaon SDO civil Gakul Chandra Brahma have been regularly supervising and monitoring the functioning of the excise staff and made it compulsory to wear official uniform for all rank of the excise department during the raids.
