Fake currency notes recovered by Assam Police in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: In yet another significant achievement, Darrang police have busted a gang of fake Indian currency notes and recovered fake currency notes amounting to Rs. 6,42,000.00 in the denomination of Rs. 2000.00.

A team of Darrang Police under the instruction of Superintendent of Police Sreejith Thiraviam intercepted one Maruti Alto car bearing registration number AS 13 E 6188 at Silbori under Dalgaon Police Station this morning and recovered the fake currency notes from the car. The accused driver Asmat Ali son of Kasem Ali of village Jangalgaon under Orang Police Station in Udalguri district has been arrested and interrogation is being continued.
