Felicitation programme 'Boyohok Sanman Jonai Ahok' held in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Panitola Jyeshth Nagarik Santha in its annual programme 'Boyohok Sanman Jonai Ahok' felicitated three socially acclaimed octogenarian citizens of Panitola at Lunpuria Puja Mandapon the outskirts of Tinsukia on Sunday.

The programme chaired by Anil Kumar Gohain, president of Panitola Jyeshth Nagarik Santha felicitated educationist Bolindra Nath Rajkhowa, former principal of Panitola HS School, Jogyaprabha Dutta, former headmistress Lunpuria LP School and posthumously Gonesh Chube, an agricultural entrepreneur. The recipients were awarded citation, cheleng and religious books. The programme was held under COVID protocols. While Nabin Kumar secretary of the Santha laid the objective, the former presidents Jogeswar Chetia and Debeswar Sonowal highlighted past activities. Dr Rishi Das, former vice-principal of Tinsukia College who was present as a special guest along with journalist Hemanta Saikia also spoke on the occasion. In his presidential speech, Gohain said that Santha was being run from their resources and individual contribution with the primary objective to recognise the contribution of octogenarians annually who excelled in different fields in their lifetime.
