FIR lodged against engineer at Jamuguri police station

JAMUGURIHAT: Tuneswari Mili and Jalani Naraha, residents of Marisuti Era Dekorai area had lodged an FIR at Jamuguri police station on Monday against a junior engineer of APDCL, Jamuguri sub-division for allegedly demanding bribes in the name of BPL connection.
According to information, one Manab Singh, junior engineer of Jamuguri sub-division APDCL had taken a bribe of rupees four thousand from each beneficiary month back with a promise of providing a BPL (Below Poverty Line) connection.
But months rolled by, the beneficiaries neither got the electric connection nor got the bribed money back from the engineer. When the two approached the engineer and demanded for the connection, the engineer persuaded them for APL connection instead of BPL connection. The helpless ladies took legal help from Jamuguri PS and lodged an FIR against the concerned engineer on Monday. Similarly, Jamuguri police called on the engineer and interrogated him.
