Five Students Of Darrang District Show Outstanding Performances In HS Examination

MANGALDAI: In the HSSLC examination under AHSEC, four meritorious students of Darrang district came out with flying colours in Arts stream while another in Science stream.

Besides Khusboo Firdous, the topper in Arts stream, Jupitara Sarma and Srutismrita Basistha, both students of Ranjit Sarma Academy, another premier academic institution in Mangaldai, and Dipankar Das of Brilliant Academy brought laurels by securing ranks in the Arts stream while another student, Partha Pratim Saharia, a student of newly-founded Trinity Junior Science College at Sipajhar secured rank in the Science stream.

Jupitara, daughter of retired teacher Sarbananda Sarma and teacher Puspalata Devi and a resident of village Deomornoi –Kharkhowapara had bagged the fourth position with a total of 472 marks and letter marks in all the six subjects. While interacting with The Sentinel,

Jupitara credited her success to her hard work with full support from her family and the academic institution led by its director Girindra Sarma. She expressed her desire to become an administrative officer in future and join Cotton University to pursue her degree course with Political Science as the Major subject.

Similarly, Srustimrita, also a student of Ranjit Sarma Academy, secured the eighth rank scoring a total of 467 marks and letter marks in all the six subjects. Srustismrita’s father Suresh Chandra Sarma is a staff of Nagrijuli Tea Estate near Tamulpur and mother Namita Devi, a housewife, reside at Preeti Nagar of Mangaldai. Srutismrita, like Jupitara, also wants to become an administrative officer in future and now will join Cotton University to pursue further studies with Political Science as the main subject.

On the other hand, Dipankar Das of Brilliant Academy bagged the ninth rank scoring a total of 460 marks with letter marks in all the six subjects. Dipankar is the younger son of Amulya Das, a retired staff of the Meghalaya State Transport Corporation and school teacher Junuki Deka of Punia-Borkumarpara village near Mangaldai. While talking to this correspondent, Dipankar said that he used to study for 9-10 hours regularly and was hopeful of securing a rank. He was full of praise for the support from his institution along with his family and friends. Dipankar has a strong desire to become a college teacher in future and now he wishes to join Cotton University to pursue his degree course with Education as the Major subject.

Partha Pratim Saharia, a student of Trinity Science Junior College of Sipajhar, appeared in the examination from Deomornoi HS School of the district and secured fifth position with a total of 473 marks and letter marks in all the six subjects in the Science stream. Partha, the only child of small-time trader Kushal Kr Saharia and housewife Bhabita Saharia of village Satgharia-Majorchuba of Sipajhar, attributed his excellent performance as the outcome of the constant support and guidance of the teachers and management of his academic institution which allowed him to study free of cost for two years. Partha, with the aim to take up engineering, is preparing for the engineering entrance test.
