Foundation laid of Mangaldai Town Club Centenary Bhavan

MANGALDAI: “The clubs in Mangaldai have always been taking up a very positive and constructive role in the society in different fields, be it culture, sports and athletics or literature. A club of Mangaldai almost 50 years back had produced an Assamese feature film which also won the national award. It is a matter of immense pleasure, pride, and joy that the Mangaldai Town Club has already completed a glorious 100 years of service to society. I earnestly appeal all the clubs and the office bearers to take up more initiatives to mold and shape the younger generation in the proper way,” said Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das while laying the foundation of the proposed Centenary Bhavan of Mangaldai Town Club on Sunday evening on the north-western bank of the historic Borpukhuri of Mangaldai town.

An amount of Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned from the CM’s untied fund at the initiative of legislator Das to mark the centenary celebration of the club.
