Four persons apprehended with 375 kg cannabis in West Kameng district

UDALGURI: The 61 bn SSB Bhairabkunda apprehended four persons for smuggling cannabis. The SSB team also recovered 20 bags of cannabis which weighed 375 kg from the nearby jungles of Boha steel bridge in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Based on specific information, a special naka party was sent for vigil near the Boha steel bridge under the command of Rajendra Singh Chouhan, the assistant commandant of 61 bn SSB. During the naka, some suspected movement was observed by the party. After some time, smugglers with the consignment reached near the naka point. The operation team detained four persons from the spot. Some others managed to flee.

On searching the nearby areas, the team recovered 20 bags of cannabis weighing 375 kg. The detained persons were identified as Somras Barla (28), son of Hago Barla; Chajit Pike (33), son of Uday Pike; Barna Munda (20), son of Ratan Munda; and Mangra Haro (35), son of Joseph Haro, all from under Majbat police station area of Udalguri district. The seized items along with the apprehended persons were handed over to the police station at Kalaktang in Arunachal Pradesh. This was stated by PK Agrawal, the Commandant of 61 bn SSB stationed at Bhairabkunda.
