Gang of thieves busted in Nagaon

NAGAON: Based on a secret tip-off, Haiborgaon TOP police, led by sub-inspector Taranga Patowari, busted a gang of juvenile thieves here at Shilongani area in Nagaon town and were also able to arrest three members of the gang. Besides, police recovered a large number of stolen articles like laptops, gold bangles, utensils, mixer grinder and other electric items from the gang, sources added.

Sources claimed that one Rahul Alom, who escaped twice from a juvenile home in Jorhat last month, was arrested first by police early Monday morning and based on his statement, police later arrested two other members of the gang identified as Sahidul Islam and Sofikul Islam of Juria Adhakhanda village under Juria PS. Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation is on, sources added further.
