General Observer Haulianlal Guite reaches Dhemaji, takes stock of poll preparedness

LAKHIMPUR: The General Observer of Assam Assembly Election for No. 113 Dhemaji (ST) LAC, Haulianlal Guite, arrived in Dhemaji on Monday to observe the entire polling processes of Dhemaji Election District.

After arriving in the district, Haulianlal Guite took an account of the election preparations by the district administration from the Election Officer. He appealed to the general voters to help the district administration to conduct free and fair election. The district administration has already set a mechanism to record complaints regarding any issue of violation of model code of conduct. On the other hand, following the guideline issued by Election Commission of India (ECI), meeting of the district-level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) of Dhemaji district was held on Monday in the presence of the representatives of the political parties and media fraternity regarding the guidelines of the committee in connection with the Assam Assembly Election, 2021. Nodal Officer of the committee and CEO of Zila Parishad, Manuj Kumar Baruah addressed the political parties and media persons regarding the guidelines. He urged everyone to extend support to the district administration for the conduction of free, fair and peaceful election. District Information and Public Relations Officer, Dibyajyoti Sarmah made a presentation on the MCMC guidelines to the political parties and media persons. On the day, two candidates filed their nominations for No. 113 Dhemaji (ST) LAC.
