Golaghat Polytechnic teachers deprived of remunerations

GOLAGHAT: The condition of technical institutes in Assam are in a very miserable and pathetic sate that is proved by the Golaghat Polytechnic. This Golaghat Polytechnic is situated in Furkating area of Golaghat. The technical institute has been facing poor infrastructure development since few months.

The important issue is that there are 26 teaching staffs at present where only two posts including principal are appointed as permanently and others appointed as temporary. Presently the teachers of the technical institute have been deprived from their monthly remuneration for ten months.

As per allegation of the teachers staff of Golaghat Polytechic said that in year 2017 the government of Assam had established 11 polytechnics in the state and Golaghat Polytechnic is one of the technical institutes among them. The institute was started in August 13 in the year 2017 with two permanent lecturers and 11 temporary lecturers. At present altogether 24 lecturers are severing in the institute. But they did not receive their remuneration in due time. Since 2018 to July 2019, they would have to receive ten month salary. By facing various difficulties teachers are discharging their duty in proper time.

Besides, the infrastructure of the Golaghat Polytechnic is very poor. There is no pure drinking water system in the institute campus, hostel for students, poor electricity, many more instruments of laboratory are in defunct condition. The students of the institute have been facing insecurity in the institute as there are no boundary walls and security system. In this regard the problems of the institute were informed to the ministers, MLA and also to the authority concerned of technical Education department sans any fruitful result.
