Gossaigaon Municipal Board organized Rally for Ban on Polythene use

Gossaigaon: Under the aegis of Gossaigaon Municipal Board, local residents along with several self-help groups and NGOs, organized a rally in Gossaigaon town on Saturday for a ban on use of polythene.

The rally started from office of the Gossaigaon Municipal Board to Gossaigaon State Bank of India and ended up at its starting point. More than 70 SHGs participated in the rally with placards and raised slogans for the ban of polythene and plastic to protect the environment.

While talking to media persons, chairman of the Gossaigaon Municipal Board appealed to local residents of the sub-division to prevent use of polythene. He also said that an order had been issued to impose fine of polythene users which would come into effect from October 2.
