Guardians’ meet of Dirgha Majgaon High School organized at Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The guardians’ meet of Dirgha Majgaon High School under Boginadi Developmental Block of Lakhimpur district was organized on Tuesday in a befitting manner in the presence of the students, guardians and teachers of the school. In the programme, detailed discussion on the enhancement of the teacher-guardians-students relationship, upgrading of the educational environment of the school and various allied issues were discussed.

The programme was chaired by School Management and Development committee president Haren Borah while headmaster Lakhyeswar Borah explained the objective of the programme. Eminent litterateur and teacher Bharat Rajkhowa graced the occasion as the guest of honour. He delivered an elaborate lecture on the responsibility of teachers and guardians in steering students, highlighting the factors which misled the students in the contemporary time. He asserted that academic progress to yield a better society with balanced development was impossible unless a coordinated and honourable relationship existed among guardians, teachers and students. In this regard, he threw light on the responsibilities of the guardians and teachers with regard to leading the student community.

Writer-journalist Ranjit Kakati took part in the programme as appointed speaker and gave a speech on ‘Role of moral and spiritual education to check the chaos in student mentality’. “The spiritual and cultural heritage of India is the very backbone of the education system of the nation. It shapes students to be individuals with high moral values and calibre. An educational system with moral and spiritual values is the need of hour,” he said.

Journalist Prashanta Dutta and Sankardev Shishu Niketan Acharya Munindra Neog also delivered speeches while attending the programme as special guests. A number of teachers and guardians also delivered speeches in the programme wherein several resolutions were taken to upgrade the academic environment of the school as well as the area.
