Guwahati Police distributes essential commodities to needy people

GUWAHATI: At the initiative of the Guwahati Police Commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta, all ranks in different police stations of Guwahati, including the senior officials, have been distributing essential commodities since March 26.

The ‘Men in Khaki’ distributed packets of rice, cereals, mustard oil, cake, biscuits, potato, and onion among the needy persons belonging to the weaker section. In some areas, the cops also distributed cooked food items and drinking water. Significantly, the police took care of the street dwellers too.

The initiative of the City police to provide essential commodities in this hour of crisis has widely been appreciated by the conscious circles. Commissioner of Police Munna Prasad Gupta, while talking to The Sentinel, reiterated the commitment of the police to the countrymen and said that this initiative would continue.
