IGAR (EAST) displays military weapons and equipment in Silchar

SILCHAR: Military Weapons and Equipments Display was conducted at Silchar under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) at 2 MGAR ground to commemorate Swarnim Vijay Varsh, the 50th anniversary of historic victory by the nation in 1971 Indo-Pak war.

The spectacular event was witnessed by more than 250 NCC cadets and students from local schools .The Military Weapons and Equipment Display, showcasing vast array of modern and sophisticated weapons as well as state of art military equipments demonstrating massive combat potential of Armed Forces safeguarding the nation was witnessed by the students. The spectators also witnessed the enthralling performance by the Military Band and were spell bound.

The undoubting valour and sacrifice of the Armed Forces during liberation of Bangladesh as well as glorious victory during 1971 Indo-Pak war was highly appreciated and acknowledged by everyone . The spectators were highly impressed with the military grandeur and the event left a long lasting impact on the young minds with re-ignited patriotic spirit.

The event conducted by Kadamtala Battalion of Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (East) concluded with refreshments served to the spectators, stated a release.
