HAILAKANDI: The Hailakandi district administration has put under quarantine all persons coming from outside the state for a mandatory period of 14 days. Deputy Commissioner M N Dahal said that under no circumstances the inbound persons coming from outside the State would be allowed to step out during the mandatory quarantine period of 14 days. Those put under home quarantine would have to remain themselves indoors with the rest of the members of the family for 14 days, the Deputy Commissioner said.

Health and police personnel will keep a strict vigil on the houses where the inbound persons are quarantined. The houses would be labelled containment zone and all the members would be provided ration and other essentials by the administration during the entire period of confinement.

Deputy Commissioner Dahal also pointed out that a village level home quarantine committee headed by the gaon panchayat president and consisting of GP Secretary, ASHA, MPW, ANM, Anganwadi worker, and two leading citizens has been constituted in each gaon panchayat to keep hawk's eye on the home quarantined persons and to ensure all necessary arrangements for them.
