International webinar on Recent Advances of Operations Research

GUWAHATI: An international webinar on the topic, "Recent Advances of Operations Research in Natural And Social Sciences" was organized by Department of Mathematics & IQAC, Lanka Mahavidyalaya, Lanka ,Hojai , Assam in Collaboration with Department of Mathematics, Assam University, Silchar, Assam, India on September 18, 2020. About 200 educationists, researchers and students participated in the said webinar.

Participating in the said webinar as resource person, Prof. SudiptaSarangi, HOD, Economics ,Virginia Tech, USA delivered his lecture on the topic, Economics of Small Things, emphasizing the application of operations research in practical social science problems. Another resource person Prof. SurajitBorkotokey, Department of Mathematics, Dibrugarh University, India discussed in details about application of Game theory in Natural & Social Sciences in his topic, "Game Theory : Do we need a theory to play game ?". The keynote speech was delivered by patron of the webinar, Prof. KarabiDutta Choudhury, HOD, Mathematics, Assam University, Silchar, India.

The webinar was inaugurated by Principal of Lanka Mahavidyalaya, Dr. A.S.Bhui and the meeting started with a welcome address from Dr. LukendraKakati, HOD, Mathematics & Coordinator of IQAC, Lanka Mahavidyalaya.

The meeting came to an end with vote of thanks from Dr. LukendraKakati, and the entire program was coordinated jointly by Dr. LukendraKakati, Lanka Mahavidyalaya& Dr. NabenduSen, Assam University with active support from technical coordinators, Dr. SumitSaha, Dept. of Maths, Assam University and Sri Hemanta Bora, Lanka Mahavidyalaya. It was the third international webinar organized from Lanka Mahavidyalaya during pandemic crisis period.
