Jail inmates to be inspired, Special programme at Dibrugarh Central Jail

Dibrugarh: In harmony with the 72nd Independence Day, the District Administration, in association with the Dibrugarh Central Jail Authority, will organise a special programme for the jail inmates at the premises of the Dibrugarh Central Jail Authority on August 13.

The event, scheduled from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., would see the presence of many dignitaries and noted figures of the society. With an aim of lifting the spirit of the inmates, many people who have made rich contributions to the society have been invited.

It is expected that these leading lights will inspire the prisoners with their touch of creativity and talent, including poetry recitations. Some of the invitees are Shantisaya Saikia from Jorhat, Lohit Deka and Syed Sadullah of AIR, Dibrugarh, Satyakam Borthakur of Dibrugarh University and Nirod Borgohain from Moran.
