KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang distributed paddy seeds, spade among farmers

DONKAMUKAM: "India is an agricultural country. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are facing a crisis and in the time of crisis only farmers can help us," said Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang at the high variety paddy seeds, spade and spray machine distribution programme at Tumpreng, West Karbi Anglong. "Our government cares for farmers. That is why in every season, whether Rabi or Kharif, we provide seeds and agricultural equipment," he added.

He said that three COVID-19 positive cases had been recorded in East Karbi Anglong and two from West Karbi Anglong and they were returnees from other States. He urged people to maintain social distancing to prevent spread of the disease.

Presided over by EM KAAC i/c Agriculture, Amarsing Tisso, the programme was also attended by EMs and MACs, Veterinary Development Board chairman Ditolal Hasnu, Additional Director, Agriculture, Ramsing Hanse and farmers. On Tuesday, altogether 300 farmers received one bag of paddy seeds, one spade and spray machine each in Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency.
