Lachit - Buranji Likha Toruwal was staged at Hazarapar Stadium as part of the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Barphukan, organized by Sonitpur district administration in association with Repertory, Tezpur.

TEZPUR: Lachit - Buranji Likha Toruwal was staged at Hazarapar Stadium as part of the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Barphukan, organized by Sonitpur district administration in association with Repertory, Tezpur.
The play is based on the life of the great Ahom general Lachit Barphukan and has been conceptualized, designed and directed by Pulak Kumar Deka. It is based on the novel Buranji Likha Toruwal written by Nayanjyoti Bhattacharya.
The drama was performed on an open stage in front of nearly 5,000 people using state-of-the-art technology where nearly 200 artistes performed, including prominent actors Pranjal Shaikia and Angoorlata Deka.
Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rabha, son of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, played the role of Chakradwaj Singh while Sootia MLA Padma Hazarika played the role of Pratap Singh. Former Mr India Bijit Gogoi played the lead role of Lachit. The character of Chaolung Sukapha was played by Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Deba Kumar Mishra.
