Lakhimpur logs 199 fresh COVID-19 cases

LAKHIMPUR: The uprise in the COVID-19 cases continues in the Lakhimpur district during the third wave of contagion. On Friday, the district logged a total of 199 fresh COVID-19 cases.

Out of them, 181 cases were detected as per Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) result while the rest 18 cases were found as per the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Test. The RAT cases were reported from North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital (8), Dhalpur BPHC (18), Bihpuriya BPHC (16), Naiboicha BPHC (16), Boginadi BPHC (22), Ghilamora BPHC (9), Dhakuakhana BPHC (9), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (81) and Private Nursing Homes (4). On this day, the District Health Department conducted 1725 RATs across the district including the Private Nursing Homes with 25.15 per cent achievement in conducting the RATs in order to detect COVID-19 patients out of the targeted figure 6860. On this day, a total of 37 suspected swab samples were collected at Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic for the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Test.

With these fresh patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases of the district during the second and third waves of the pandemic has hiked up to 14,582 since April 1 of the last year.

On the other hand, two more doctors of Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH) tested COVID-19 positive on Friday. Besides, all members of one doctor of the LMCH also tested positive for COVID-19. However, the doctor tested negative. On the other hand, 9 doctors of the LMCH, who tested positive earlier, joined in their jobs after their recovery from COVID-19.
