Man-Animal Conflict: Labourers killed male leopard in Duliajan, chopped off tail and legs

Duliajan: In a shocking incident, one male leopard was brutally thrashed to death by some notorious people at the Shanti Tea Estate under Bhadoipachali Police Outpost in Duliajan under Dibrugarh District on Thursday.

As per a report, the leopard had terrorized the residents of the tea estate since the past few weeks, following which few labourers had chased away the wild animal and attacked him severely on the wee hours today.

The leopard received severe injuries on his body including his face during the attack.

It may also be mentioned that few notorious labourers had also chopped off his legs, tail etc...out of anger.

After getting about the information, Charaipung Forest officials under Digboi Forest Division immediately rushed to the spot to rescue the injured leopard.

The incident had led to a sensation in the region.

Meanwhile, the injured leopard was reported dead by the forest officials.
