Massive storm lashes Kokrajhar and Chirang districts

Kokrajhar: Massive storm-lashed Kokrajhar and Chirang districts on Tuesday and caused heavy damage to property. The storm began at 1 pm in certain parts of the district and it was accompanied by heavy rain.

Many trees were uprooted, tin sheets of many individuals were flown away, several properties were damaged and power line badly disrupted in Kokrajhar. The restoration of power supply in Kokrajhar town cannot be expected today.

The storm also lashed some parts of Chirang district and damaged a lot of property. The district administration of Kokrajhar and Chirang have reportedly instructed circle officers to access the damage of properties due to the massive storm.
