Midday meal rice bags of 17 quintals dug out in Kokrajhar
Rice bags of 17 quintals meant for midday meal for the students of Debargaon HS School in Kokrajhar district was dug out on Monday.

KOKRAJHAR. Rice bags of 17 quintals meant for midday meal for the students of Debargaon HS School in Kokrajhar district was dug out on Monday. Local people expressed anguish over the misuse of midday meal which was allegedly buried under the ground by the Principal after it became unfit for consumption.
Talking to mediapersons, the Principal of Debargaon HS School Harish Chandra Chetri said the rice bags of 17 quintals were buried under the ground after discussion with the School Managing Committee as the rice became rotten. He said the rice was unfit for consumption as it was received in 2009 and got damaged. He also alleged that the rice he received was of inferior quality.
Meanwhile, the local people alleged that the rice bags buried illegally could be of around 20-25 quintals. They also demanded an investigation into the matter.
