Minister appreciates ONGC  Assam Asset for proactive CSR

SIVASAGAR, June 6: Minister of State Topon Kumar Gogoi and MP of Jorhat, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, appreciated ONGC, Assam Asset for its improving production, future operational plans of the Asset and proactive CSR projects during their visit to Nazira on Monday. The minister was also accompanied by MLA of Thowra, Kushal Dowari, MLA of Mahmora, Jogen Mohan and senior officers from the administration. The visiting high-level delegation applauded ONGC for all the initiatives taken by the organization for the development of Assam and assured to extend all out support to ONGC in its endeavour to foster growth and development in the State in general and to accomplish the goal of 10 per cent import reduction by 2022 as envisaged by the Prime Minister of India.

On the occasion, the Power Minister was felicitated on his maiden visit to ONGC, Nazira by ONGC Assam Asset led by ED-Asset Manager, SD Maske. The presentation also included the salient features of PEC (Production Enhancing Contract) being introduced in ONGC for enhancement of production. It was explained that in the PEC the ownership of the fields shall remain with the ONGC. The main feature of the PEC is that the service providers shall bring comprehensive technologies to improve production at their cost. A status on the tender for light vehicles was also shared with the dignitaries. It was explained that various relaxations like ownership of vehicles, experience, vintage of vehicles etc. have been relaxed to help more individual vendors and unemployed youths to participate in the tender.

The Minister, MP and MLAs complimented team Assam Asset led by SD Maske, ED-Asset Managerand highly appreciated the overall performance of the Asset and wished it will perform even better in FY 2018-19. ONGC, in its presentation also apprised about various ongoing CSR projects, especially in the field of education, health and hygiene, women empowerment, skill development, promotion of Art and Culture, protection of environment etc. On the CSR front, ONGC constructed 12,158 IHHL (Individual House Hold Latrines) at a cost of Rs. 14.58 Cr. in Sivasagar and Charaideo district.

Assam Asset also provided safe drinking water in 32 schools covering more than 10,000 children at a cost of Rs. 1.07 crore. This initiative will be carried forward in the next financial year also covering another 15,000 children of 50 schools at a cost of Rs. 1.68 crore.
