Miscreants loot Mobile Phones worth more than Rs 2 lakh in Lanka

Lanka: Few unidentified miscreants allegedly looted a mobile shop in the midnight hours on Tuesday in Lanka under Hojai District.

As per reports, the alleged miscreants had entered the mobile shop 'Aakash Video' through the ceiling and looted several smartphones estimated to be worth more than Rs 2 lakh.

The owner of the shop also claimed that the miscreants had also looted cash of Rs 50 thousand from the cash box.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Lanka Police Station in connection to the matter.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Lanka Police Station, Second officer-in-charge, Jyoti Kamal Bania said that there has been a case of robbery in Lanka town last and we are investigating the matter.

"The owner of the shop is mobile dealers, they also repair mobile phones and sell mobile parts to the customers. it's a small shop basically," said the second officer-in-charge.

So far no arrests have made in connection to the matter.
