More than 65 per cent voters exercise franchise in Nagaon

NAGAON: In the first phase of Lok Sabha polls held on Thursday in four LACs in Nagaon district for the Kaliabor parliamentary seat, around 65 per cent voters exercised their franchise peacefully to decide the fate of seven candidates in the constituency. As per a report prepared by the election media cell, no inconvenience or other incidents of violence were reported till filing of this report. The polling percentage is expected to increase as people were seen standing in long queues in the campus of various polling stations in the district and the entrance or the gate of those stations had been kept close by the polling officers concerned after the stipulated time was over.
