Municipality workers to protest in Biswanath
Around six thousand employees of 103 municipal bodies in the State will go on a three-day strike from December 19 demanding solutions to their long-standing problems.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Around six thousand employees of 103 municipal bodies in the State will go on a three-day strike from December 19 demanding solutions to their long-standing problems. The strike will also be observed by the Biswanath Chariali Municipal Employees' Union. The Union stated in a press release that all other activities except essential services will be disrupted during the strike.
The union demands that the jobs of municipal employees should be regularized by implementing the Cabinet decision of the government, issuing government notification by implementing the specific structure of the employees, release of unpaid dues from 6 months to 37 months of municipal employees of the State, regularization of the jobs of employees working on fixed pages and master rolls for a long time, etc.
