National integration tour flagged off

HAMREN, July 11: The Red Horn Division Army conducted a national integration tour from July 3 to July 10 for the children of Hanjanglangso East Karbi Anglong to Kolkata. It was flagged off by Col JVS Rawat at Army camp, Diphu on Tuesday. The excursion team consisted of 30 students and three teachers from Klirdap English High School, Langmili, Harihajan. As part of the tour, children visited various places of interest like Eden Garden, Victoria Memorial and Salt Lake Football Stadium and they also enjoyed a movie at Inox Multiplex at Forum Mall.

The children also interacted with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, Lt Gen Abhay Krishna who encouraged the students to do well in their lives. The students also went to the Raj Bhavan and met the Governor of West Bengal. The national integration tour fulfilled its motive to acquaint the children from the remote area of Hanjanglangso with the vast and rich heritage of the country and to observe the country from a different perspective.
