After that, DTO Sanjeev Hazarika gave a detailed and engaging power-point presentation on different facets of road safety covering vital aspects, including the utility of helmets and seat belts, how to drive a car, the utility of airbags and how negligence on the road led to accidents. Around eight students took part in the extempore speech competition that followed. The subjects were in sync with the event and included topics like driving licence and seat belt. It was followed by a quiz competition which was participated by eight teams. The quiz was on traffic signal and other aspects of road safety. The first prize was Rs 1,500, the second was Rs 1,000 and third was Rs 700.

An interactive session was also held between the DTO and the leading citizens of the town. Replying to a question as to whether there was a set standard to lay down the speed-breakers and if accidents during dark hours could be prevented by making the speed-breakers more prominent, Hazarika said that the department was already considering implementing a scientific way of constructing them to avoid causing much inconvenience to the riders. Accepting the fact that lack of visibility of speed-breakers at dark could result in mishaps, he also assured that necessary measures would be taken in order to make them more conspicuous.
