New Management Committee of Keoliyahati Xatra Formed in Goalpara

Goalpara: A new management committee for the historical Keoliyahati Xatra at Peskarpara village of Boguan in West Goalpara was formed recently.

A meeting was held in this regard at the village under the chairmanship of social worker Binay Kumar Nath where academician and another frontline social worker, Maheswar Nath was unanimously selected as the new president of the xatra management committee.

A 21-member committee with Shekhar Ch. Nath as vice-president, Jadav Ch. Nath as secretary and Uday Ch. Nath as the assistant secretary was formed.

In the same meeting, former Xatradhikar Ashwini Kr. Nath was released on his request after several years of dedicated service and Bhupen Kalita was unanimously chosen as the new chief Xatradhikar and Joyram Nath as the Deuri.

Hundreds of devotees who took part in the meeting appealed to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to work for the infrastructure development of Boguan Keoliyahati Xatra which was set up by Mahapurush Sankardeva himself.
